An Introduction to Emily Dickinson
Do you have a cat? Have you ever visited a cat? Have you ever noticed that when you want to have something in your lap that is not the cat, the cat has to be in your lap? Well, I have a cat, and this most certainly something that happens with my cat. Her name is Emily Dickinson. Sometimes the thing in my lap is a computer. Sometimes I have programmes open that accept the input of text. Sometimes Emily writes poetry. It is usually raw, emotional poetry, often in the style of her namesake. Such as this poem from February 20th, 2013:

A more recent work, however (November 5th, 2013), shows her sharply insightful thoughts on modern life:

A cat poet of dynamic range, she can often be found licking herself, meowing pitifully for no apparent reason, and hounding creatures outside the windows. Her favorite toys are string, bobby pins, pen caps, the little bag in which I keep my iPod, twist-ties, and her catnip pillow. We will present here some of her works as they develop for your enjoyment and edification.
